Tarina Kaur Ahuja

She co-founded the non-profit Young Khalsa Girls (YKG) in 2012 with 3 friends. This girl-led grassroots organization is rooted in the mission of empowering young girls to serve and advocate in their communities. YKG has partnered with many organizations and its work has spanned from assembling sustainable menstrual kits for girls in developing countries, supporting Kids Against Hunger by assembling packages, and raising funds for higher education in India. In April of 2020 Tarina co-founded The Greater Good Initiative (GGI) a youth-led think tank empowering young people nationally to write and advocate for sustainable policies at the local, state, and federal levels in the sectors of Environment, Public Health, Economy, Education, and Civil Rights. Tarina’s work with YKG has supported the Sustainable Development Goals on Gender Equality, Quality education, No poverty, and zero hunger. She has engaged 300 people and served 18,000. She has spoken publicly and her work with GGI has been featured on the news.
